Maintenance is not just an option in a monitoring app; it’s a comprehensive tool that helps keep vehicles in good working condition. For clients, it means safety and extended vehicle life, while for GPS-Trace partners, it’s an opportunity to offer advanced solutions and increase profits.
Why is this feature important?
One of the key benefits is the "Maintenance" feature, which allows clients to monitor the condition of their vehicles and perform scheduled maintenance on time.
Today, we’ll explain how this feature can help partners boost sales and enhance the value of their services by answering the following questions:
- What does the Maintenance feature offer?
- How can a partner enable and configure this feature for the client?
- Where can users find maintenance information?
- Examples of use and business benefits.
Note: Each partner can decide which features will be available to their clients and to what extent. Partners can increase their service value by offering access to mileage and engine hour counters. This option is available in Client plans based on the Advanced Partner plan.
1. What benefits does the Maintenance feature in Forguard provide for clients?
The Maintenance feature in Forguard allows partners to efficiently manage their fleet using modern telematics solutions. It provides accurate tracking of mileage and engine hours, making it easier to plan maintenance and prevent unexpected breakdowns. These digital tools not only reduce equipment downtime but also improve the overall efficiency of fleet management systems.
Originally, this feature was implemented in the Ruhavik app to simplify the maintenance process. It helps users perform timely servicing of key vehicle components and comply with manufacturer requirements. For any business, it’s crucial to monitor fleet condition, optimize operations, and track performance statistics. This solution is an excellent way to make vehicle monitoring and maintenance control simpler and more efficient.
2. How can a partner enable and configure this feature for the client?
The Maintenance tab can be found by clicking on the corresponding icon in the navigation bar.
In the Maintenance tab, both the partner and the user will see:
- Mileage Counters – showing the distance traveled by the vehicle.
The measurement unit (km, miles, etc.) is determined by the system settings that the client can choose in the User Menu > User Settings.
- Engine Hour Counters – showing the equipment’s operating hours.
Engine hour counters work only if the tracker can send the 'engine.ignition.status' parameter to our system.
In the Mileage or Engine Hour Counters tab, up to 3 counters of each type can be set by clicking the pencil icon and configuring the following options:
- Assign and edit names for each counter.
- Set a counter limit.
- Reset the counter by clicking the reset icon.
- Enable/disable notifications when the set limit is reached.
3. Where can users see maintenance information?
Users can access mileage and engine hour counter information in several places:
- Maintenance Tab – clients can view the counters set up by the partner.
- Settings > Common – displays the vehicle's total mileage and engine hours.
Partners can also set the initial value of these parameters, so clients will see the adjusted data.
