Migrating Your Customers from Ruhavik to Forguard: Step-by-Step Guide

25.12.2025 | Veranika Patachyts

Among vehicle tracking solutions, Forguard offers a broader range of features compared to Ruhavik:

  • Multi-user access with ACL (Access Control Lists)
  • Significantly higher limits — Up to 300 units per account (vs. lower limits in Ruhavik)
  • Custom branding with corporate colors and logos
  • Advanced features for professional fleet management

When users outgrow Ruhavik's basic functionality, migration to Forguard becomes the logical next step.

This guide explains the process to migrate from Ruhavik to Forguard, preserving history, trips, and other storage data.

Step 1. Link the User Account to Partner Panel

Before migration, the Ruhavik account must be linked to a Partner Panel account.

If the account is not yet linked, an invitation can be sent:

  1. Go to Partner Panel → Accounts → Invite an existing user.
  2. Enter the user's email or username. Optionally, add a note.
  3. The user will receive an email request to link their account to the service (like provider N).

After clicking the link, the user will be linked to the provider and will see a confirmation message: Invitation successfully accepted.

Step 2. Enable Service Mode in Ruhavik

The Ruhavik applications include a Service Mode feature that allows dealers to manage user accounts directly through the Partner Panel.

Key features of Service Mode:

  • Grants dealer access to account settings without user credentials.
  • Allows adjustments and technical support directly via Partner Panel.
  • Notifies users when Service Mode is enabled.

How to enable Service Mode:

  1. A Ruhavik user should open the Ruhavik app.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Service Mode.
  4. Write a message for the dealer and click Open Access.

👉 Important: Migration requires that the Ruhavik account is linked to Partner Panel and Service Mode is enabled.

Step 3. Prepare a Forguard User Account

  • Create a new Forguard user account as the destination, or
  • Check the existing Forguard account to ensure that the tariff plan supports the units planned for migration.
Step 4. Migrate Units from Ruhavik to Forguard
  • Open the Ruhavik end-user page in Partner Panel.
  • Select the unit(s) for migration.
  • Tap the "…" menu next to Ruhavik: units.
  • Choose Migrate.
